Carlier Makigawa has been a major figure in Australian jewellery since the late 1970s, working with silver and gold to create meticulously crafted frameworks, which hold a dynamic and expressive energy. Her most recent body of work, Linked, saw a departure from her familiar visual language as she embraced a classical chain mail method of linking hundreds of jump rings.
